Becoming a Wedding Consultant

More brides every year are depending on Wedding Consultant (aka coordinator and planner) to ensure their wedding day is how they have always dreamed. If you're an individual who is creative, enthusiastic, patient, highly organized and has a sense of style, then this may be the profession for you.

You have many opportunities for education on the basics of the profession, but we recommend that you take courses from the industry leaders.

Both associations not only offer initial training but offer continued training and workshops as well as local chapters for networking.

Once you have completed your education, the most invaluable training will be hands on experience with an established coordinator. This will also give you the opportunity to begin a portfolio.
